Talihau Beach, the place your south pacific dreams come true, is home to Lucky's Beach Houses. It is located on the island of 'Utungake in the middle of the Vava´u group of islands, connected to the main island of Vava´u Lahi via bridges making access to the town of Neiafu very easy.
Four little beach houses skirt the beach and offer a lovely view on the pacific and the surrounding islands. It’s the perfect place to relax, snorkel, enjoy the ocean and sleep to the sound of waves.
Lucky's Beach Houses is a small family owned and operated facility. We live on site and strive to make your stay at Lucky's Beach a pleasant one. It is wonderful to meet all the great travelers that come to Vava'u. Lynn, Kurt & Keith, your hosts, will do their best to ensure your stay at Lucky's is an unforgettable one.
We are located in the village of Talihau, which allows our guests to see and feel Tonga. Taking a short stroll in the village is a great way to experience the true Tongan way of life. Tongan village life can be a busy one. Some days work and play in the village starts early and can run late. The Tongan people work hard and play harder. To us, this is what Tonga is all about, Big Smiles, Happy people laughing and singing. If pure silence and isolation is what you seek, Lucky's Beach is probably not for you. If experiencing real Tongan people and their way of life is of interest, then please join us for an experience we think you will enjoy. Surfing, Snorkeling, Sport Fishing, Kayaking are available at Lucky's.
Lucky's Beach and Poppin' Tonga is the Tongan destination for Giant Trevally (GT) fisherman. Come fishing with a true GT Fisherman that is happy to exchange knowledge and experiences with both experienced and novice GT fisherman. Check out the GT fishing page. We have been having a great time fishing come see us and we can set up a great package for your GT Fishing Holiday.
It is also a great place for Windsurfing and Kiteboarding with the winter SE trades flowing between the islands, but be sure to bring your own equipment as there are no rental facilities here.
Just remember, if we don't do it or have it, we can help you find it by providing guidance and contact information for various activity operators. Please bear in mind that some activities are seasonal and may not be available during your stay
Tongan Education
We have decided to make a small request to the wonderful people that come to stay with us. If you have enough space in your bags and the desire to help the children in our village, we ask that you bring some basic school supplies to be donated to the village primary school. The school and the local children are always in need of things like pencils, crayons, paper and class 1 - 6 reading materials. Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you have any questions about other needs, please do not hesitate to contact us.
